Meet your Rebel Trainer

Katie Coombes

Katie spent her early career in advertising before starting a business in 2003 with no money, no loan and no real idea what she was doing. Over the next 15 years, she built it into an award-winning events company with 15 staff and a £2.4 million turnover before selling the business in 2017. After a period of figuring out what came next, she rediscovered her purpose through training, mentoring and supporting entrepreneurs. Katie is a mother, a Manchester City fan, and believes in being straight-talking, well-mannered and having a good laugh. She doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but she’s learned a lot from the journey so far.

We believe more people should have access to education and support, especially if money is a barrier. Our funded model lets us deliver practical help without charging participants course fees.

Who are these courses for?

Our courses are for people who want to start, test, or make a change in their lives. That includes complete beginners, people with a rough idea, people already trading, and people who just want to explore whether self-employment could work for them.

Is this course for complete beginners?

Yes. Many people join with no business background at all. We keep things practical, simple, and focused on action, not unnecessary jargon.

Are you selling something?

No. We are not here to pressure you into buying a programme at the end. Rebel exists to help people start and grow in a practical, honest, no-nonsense way. If we ever share extra opportunities or resources, there is no obligation attached.
