Five years after attending Rebel Business School, Doncaster artist Rebecca is celebrating remarkable success as the founder of Pub Painting UK, now one of Yorkshire’s largest sip and paint businesses.
Rebecca credits Rebel with giving her the confidence and momentum to turn a creative idea into a thriving enterprise. Since launching Pub Painting UK, she has hosted hundreds of painting events in pubs and venues across the region, teaching thousands of people how to paint in a relaxed and social setting. The business has grown steadily year after year and has even enabled Rebecca to purchase her first home with her partner. Before joining Rebel, Rebecca worked as an artist, taking on commissions and various creative projects.
While she was already skilled in her craft, she says the course helped her focus and turn her passion into a scalable business. After completing the programme, she committed fully to developing Pub Painting UK and pushing it to the next level.
One lesson from the course has stayed with her throughout her journey: “Eat the frog.”
Rebecca explains that the phrase encouraged her to tackle difficult or uncomfortable tasks head-on rather than putting them off. She says it remains one of the most valuable tools she uses in business today. Looking ahead, Rebecca plans to continue expanding Pub Painting UK and hopes to one day train other artists to join the team, allowing the business to reach even more venues and communities.
Reflecting on her experience, Rebecca describes Rebel Business School as incredibly inspiring and says she will always be grateful for the opportunity to take part.
