Change happens when people grow

At Rebel, we believe that real change, be that in a person, community or planet, only happens when individuals grow.

That could be starting a business, making better financial decisions, an increase in confidence, resilience, or finally believing it’s possible. All incredible outcomes, but they come after personal growth, not before.

Our work is about creating the conditions for growth, so that change is possible.

We’re personcentred

We use entrepreneurship, business and finance as person-centred tools, not outcomes.

That means our focus is person first: their experiences, confidence, wellbeing and sense of agency, then their ideas and ability.

The things that block most people aren’t usually the problem; they’re symptoms of something deeper.
A lack of money is often a lack of confidence.
A lack of direction is often a lack of permission.
A lack of action is often fear. We have to go upstream.

When people feel in control of their lives, the practical stuff becomes possible and sustainable.

We do things differently

We don’t teach business plans, loans or debt. The traditional start‑up model works for some people, but misses most. Especially those navigating vulnerability, risk or instability.

‘Starting a business’ is often seen as:

  • Expensive
  • Risky
  • Academic
  • Binary (you’re either an entrepreneur or not)

A model that only works for people who can afford it.

Rebel starts from a different place. We help people start with what they have, where they stand, and what matters to them now. We don’t lower the bar; we remove it completely.

Everyone has the right to experiment.

You know when you’re in a Rebel room

A Rebel course is high‑energy, full of possibilities, ideas, and people backing each other.

A safe container where people can be open, honest and vulnerable without judgment.

People sitting side by side from completely different walks of life. Different ages, incomes, backgrounds, and levels of experience. Some have run businesses for years, some have never realised it was for them.

There’s no blueprint for this; it’s not binary. We work to tackle challenges in confidence, identity, well-being, fear, financial stress and experiences of exclusion.

A Rebel room carries empathy, courage and belief that change is possible. For many who attend, it’s life‑changing.

We challenge systems

Part of supporting and protecting people is about influencing the systems that keep them trapped. Much of our work is about unpacking what starting a business really means: It isn’t overnight, it’s not linear, and it definitely shouldn’t be exclusive.

We help clients and partners move beyond a narrow focus on economic outputs and recognise something deeper. When individuals have better mental and financial well-being, stronger agency, and real confidence, communities become resilient and grow naturally.

The Mini-Experiment Method

We ask every single person who attends our course: "What’s stopping you?" and across the planet, the answers are the same.

Fear

Lack of confidence

Money

The belief that you need money to start

Practical Knowhow

What to do, what not to do, and how to do it
It might become a business later, but if you treat it as a cost-free, risk-free mini-experiment first, you can see if it works and if you enjoy it. If so: repeat. If not: you've learnt and can try the next mini-experiment.
