Urban Trailblazer CIC – Hildreth Alexander

Urban Trailblazer CIC began with a simple idea: that growth can start anywhere, even on a balcony in West London. When Hildreth Alexander first planted herbs and flowers with her daughter, it wasn’t meant to become a business; it was a way to rebuild confidence after both had struggled through school systems that didn’t understand neurodiversity. The small act of growing something slowly became proof that change was possible, and that community could be rebuilt one plant at a time.

Today, Urban Trailblazer is a social enterprise supporting carers, young adults, elderly residents, and underrepresented groups through gardening, creativity, and digital learning. Its AQA-accredited workshops teach horticulture, Canva and digital skills, teamwork, leadership, and employability. Sessions take place across West London, including estates, community venues, NHS networks, and Kensington Palace, giving participants a place to learn, reconnect, and leave with something tangible like a plant, a skill, or a renewed sense of purpose.

The organisation has been recognised by the National Lottery, TfL, Groundwork, and multiple housing associations.

Urban Trailblazer CIC began with a simple idea: that growth can start anywhere.

By the time Hildreth joined the Rebel School, Urban Trailblazer already had strong roots, but she often felt she was building everything alone. Listening to the team describe approaching organisations with nothing more than an idea gave her a turning point. Rebel gave her confidence in herself as a leader and the belief that her social mission is also a viable, scalable business.

Now, Hildreth is focused on expanding Urban Trailblazer through council and school contracts, building partnerships, and preparing for mentoring with Linklaters. She’s developing subscription-based AQA learning boxes, trainee tutor roles for young adults, and new ways to blend wellbeing, creativity, and employability. Her long-term vision is to build micro-education hubs: small, flexible learning spaces where people are seen, supported, and empowered to grow in their own way.
