For almost twenty years, Stephen built his career high above the ground, repairing wind turbines, maintaining bridges and tackling the kinds of jobs most people never see. While he helped keep the country’s infrastructure moving, his own business, High Level Rope Access, never quite found its momentum. The industry had shifted, his old marketing no longer worked, and the company he believed in had quietly stalled.
Joining Rebel’s Stirling course became his turning point. Early in the programme, one idea hit hard: being skilled is not the same as being seen. Stephen realised his team was already doing exceptional work. High Level Rope Access offered something few could match, providing safe and rapid access to places scaffolding and machinery simply could not reach. From blade repairs to geotechnical work and drone-assisted surveys, the business solved complex problems with speed and minimal disruption. What it needed was visibility and a clearer, more confident voice.
Rebel helped him make that shift. Stephen began approaching his business with fresh intent, focusing on simple outreach, stronger branding and the mindset of a business owner rather than just a technician. With each small step, his confidence grew.
Now he sees High Level Rope Access entering a new chapter. His goal is to expand across the UK, strengthen his reputation and build the systems that will help the company grow sustainably.
