I attended the “Generación 10 Emprende” programme by the WWF and Rebel Business School Colombia that took place in Bogotá. It was a wonderful space to connect with people who are doing something for the world and for the people who inhabit it. I really want to acknowledge the work WWF and Rebel are doing and thank them because they have provided us with tools that I can apply in order to add value, starting today, to my business.
But what I find especially important is that it is not just about receiving the information, but actually getting out there and taking action and applying all of the things that we learned from day one.
For me, it was important to connect with people who were also interested in improving the health of our planet and who like exercising, simply because I have a business called Plogging Colombia, in which we design and carry out eco-sporting cleaning campaigns that involve doing physical activity while cleaning. We also conduct environmental education, identification and classification of residue, promotion of responsible consumption and healthy and sustainable lifestyles that connect with planet Earth. In addition to this, we also create socio-environmental leaders.
The course was a very enriching experience, with special moments like when we had to interact with our classmates and listen to them speaking about
their projects and goals. Another important part was the Social Media lecture, since it was important to learn the tools required to optimise my business profile on Instagram, which in turn will allow us to reach more people and slowly build a community.
In addition to this, the creation of a database is also a huge lesson since this allows us to keep in touch with our community in case Instagram fails or is blocked.
After having been part of the programme, I leave with a positive and entrepreneurial mindset that motivates me to move, to never give up and to try again as many times as needed in order to make things happen. Again, I reiterate that the presentations were excellent, the practical methodology and the group
