Don’t Wait for Your Customers to Come to You

Alan and James continue our Sales & Marketing Series. One of the biggest rules in marketing is that you can’t wait for your customers, you have to find them. If you build it, they will not come.

So after running Popup Business Schools, we quite often go back six months after the event, and we chat to people, how’s it going? What’s been happening? And quite often people told me, I haven’t got enough sales. I’ve not been selling enough. So ask them, Well, how many people did you contact? And I said, Well, I sent 10 emails. And now I’m waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Don’t wait. Stop waiting. If you want a sale to happen, don’t send an email and wait for a reply.

So don’t wait. follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up, send those emails, do those calls, do those pitches, make sure you follow up to get those sales.

And if you’re waiting, stop it, get off the couch and do it. You can wait for the rest of your life for something to happen. If you really want it to happen, you have to make it happen.
